Description
MACHINE TYPE:
The UV-Visible spectrophotometry is based on the absorption of radiation with wavelengths typically ranging from 200 nm to 780 nm, thus in the near UV region (200 – 380 nm) and the Visible region (380 – 780 nm), by molecules or ions.
APPLICATION SECTOR:
Pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, food, dietary, medical devices.
FEATURES:
The UV-Visible spectroscopy performed with the LAMBDA 25 model is a routine chemical analysis technique used for the quantification of transition metal ions (which often form colored compounds and therefore absorb in the visible region), highly conjugated organic molecules, and, in general, macromolecules of biological interest. It thus finds numerous applications both in research, as well as in industry and analysis laboratories. The identification of the functional groups responsible for the absorption by a molecule is performed by recording the entire spectrum, in the range of 200 – 780 nm, while quantification is carried out by recording absorbance values at a given wavelength and comparing the analyte’s absorbance with that of standard solutions of known concentration at the same wavelength.
