Description
MACHINE TYPE:
The peristaltic pump is a device that applies the principle of peristalsis, according to which the pressure on the treated fluid is imparted by a constriction that moves along the tube.
APPLICATION SECTOR:
Pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, food, dietary, medical devices, manufacturing.
FEATURES:
The pump consists of a rotor to which 2 or more rollers are attached that, by rotating, “squeeze” the tube and cause the fluid to advance. A fundamental component of the pump is the tube, which must resist crushing for as long as possible, deforming elastically rather than plastically. It is the elasticity that allows the tube to regain its original dimensions and thus ensure pressure on the fluid and suction capacity. Usually, the tubes used in peristaltic pumps are made of materials such as silicone, PVC, and other polymers that can offer, in addition to the aforementioned mechanical characteristics, also significant chemical compatibility with solvents, acids, inks, paints, etc. Furthermore, reinforced elastomers with textile inserts are used to ensure the toughness of the tube even at high pressures and for long periods.
