Description
DESCRIPTION:
The liquid ring pumps are special pumps used for handling liquids or gases. They consist of a cylindrical chamber inside of which rotates a rotor with radial blades. The rotational motion of these blades ensures the formation of a liquid layer at the wall of the compartment. Since the impeller is placed in position non central, chambers (defined by the blades of the impeller) have variable volume, in which the fluid passes, compressed.
They are used where necessary to pump large amounts of steam without the use of a capacitor in between. In this type of pumps, which is supplied continuously (both for the renewal of the ring liquid, or cooling), the water causes the condensation of vapor pumped with a capacity dependent on the size of the pumps and the operating temperature.
