FEATURES:
The disaggregation test is performed using equipment consisting of a basket with glass tubes, in each of which a tablet and a disc of plastic material are inserted: the basket is immersed in a container with water at 37°C and the device is operated for a predetermined time, during which the basket is raised and lowered at a certain speed. After this time, all tablets must be disaggregated. Effervescent tablets must disaggregate in less than 5 minutes in 200 ml of water at 19°-21°C, forming effervescence. Buccal tablets should not be subjected to the test.
The disaggregation test is passed if all units are completely disaggregated within the established time. If one or two units are not disaggregated, repeat the test on additional units.
