Description
MACHINE TYPE:
The apparent density analyzers for powders are simple-to-use automatic instruments that meet many internationally recognized methodological standards. They provide high-level control over the testing methodology thanks to various user-selectable and lockable tapping numbers. The compaction speed and drop height are fixed, ensuring consistent results from sample to sample.
APPLICATION SECTOR:
Pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, food, dietary, medical devices.
FEATURES:
The density and tapped volumes of powders, granules, pellets, flakes, and other bulk substances are measured according to EP, ASTM, and USP regulations. This technique is useful in studies of powder compression and flowability, as well as for determining the amount of settling during transport and packaging. Tapped Density is calculated by mechanically tapping an initial volume of powder within a volumetric cylinder for a predefined time (lifting and rotating the cylinder and allowing it to drop a specified distance under its own weight) until no further volume changes are observed. The SOTAX TD 2 complies with USP, ASTM, EP, and DIN ISO specifications and has two positions for USP I and USP II testing. The 100 ml and 250 ml cylinders are loaded onto “easy to lock” supports that allow free rotation of the cylinders. The weight of the supports meets the requirements of the pharmacopoeia.
