FEATURES:
Tissue – Tek SCA is an automatic instrument for cover slides for biological samples mounted on standard 25 x 75 mm microscope slides. The application of a special film is done with the aid of glasses, requiring only three seconds per slide. The slides dry quickly and are ready for microscopic examination almost immediately after processing. A microcomputer controls the mechanical movements, as well as the position and length of the cover slide film. All operational functions are controlled by a control panel, and the slides ready for covering are placed in baskets that are then loaded on the left side of the instrument. Each slide is pushed into the basket and transported along a conveyor belt.
The SCA ™ Film cover slides have a productivity of up to twenty slides per minute, using a tri-acetate cellulose film coated with a xylene-activated resin on the underside. The flexible film, with optical clarity equal to glass, is automatically applied to the slide, eliminating the use of sticky mounting media and prolonged direct contact with xylene.
