Description
DESCRIPTION:
This fully automated apparatus is designed to study conditioned reflex (avoidance reaction) in rats and mice. It consists of a programming/recording unit and a cage divided into two sections by a partition with an intercommunicating door at floor level. A transparent lid is provided to allow the animals to be observed.
SECTORS OF USE:
Student and chemical research laboratories
MAIN FEATURES:
The 7510 consists of a control unit and a Box divided into two sections by a partition with an intercommunicating door at floor level. Many different protocols can be run with the 7510 Automatic Reflex Conditioner.Ā The cage is provided with acoustic and visual stimulators, which supply conditioning stimuli. The operator can switch on either the visual or acoustic stimulator, or both. The āreinforcementā consists of an electrical stimulus applied to the floor bars of the cage by a special circuit. The programming/recording unit supplies the stimuli, the magnitude, rate and duration of which can be varied, and recordās the animalās response via a writing mechanism which: -provides an analogic display of latency times ā discriminates between responses caused by acoustic and/or visual stimuli (condit. reflexes) and those requiring an electrical stimulus as well (reinforcements).
