Description
MACHINE TYPE:
The Perkin Elmer LS 55 luminescence spectrometer is a highly versatile instrument that allows for the measurement of fluorescence, phosphorescence, and chemiluminescence or bioluminescence of a liquid, solid, powder, or thin film sample. The instrument is easy to use and is controlled by user-friendly software.
APPLICATION SECTOR:
Pharmaceutical, chemical, cosmetic, food, dietary, medical devices.
FEATURES:
The LS 55 model series uses a pulsed xenon lamp as an excitation source. Fluorescence data is collected at the moment of the flash while phosphorescence data is collected during the dark period between each flash. The use of the pulsed xenon lamp eliminates the need for a mechanical means to cut the excitation and emission rays, thus leading to greater accuracy and speed of analysis. The instrument’s software includes application programs for observing short (msec) and long (seconds) phosphorescence decay curves as well as spectra.
